NCOC issues new guidelines for wedding ceremonies

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has issued new guidelines regarding wedding ceremonies in specific cities.

According to details, the new guidelines will be implemented from November 20 in various cities of all provinces.

In Punjab, the guidelines are applicable in seven cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad.

Meanwhile, Sindh’s Karachi and Hyderabad, Balochistan’s Quetta, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Peshawar and Azad Kashmir’s Muzaffarabad and Mirpur will also be bound to follow new instructions.

As per guidelines, the venue of wedding ceremony will be selected after consultations with the local health authority. Moreover, indoor weddings have been banned and only outdoor ceremonies will be allowed.

The marquees will not be allowed to hold wedding ceremonies. The use of canopy tents in outdoor weddings will also be prohibited.

Up to 1000 guests will be allowed to attend outdoor ceremony while social distancing must be maintained between guests. The event will have to conclude within two hours.

The host of the wedding will be responsible for the implementation of coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The host will also have to provide masks and sanitizers to the guests.
