The sequel of Frozen has set the record for the biggest global opening for an animated film ever, making $350 million worldwide, Frozen 2 made $350 million at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo, $127 million of which was from the US.
Sequel to the 2013’s Frozen, this part has brought in an estimated $127 million in North America this weekend.
Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck’s Frozen II showed itself while ending a post-summer box office “slump,” one mostly caused by Wonder Woman 1984 and No Time to Die moving into 2020. It nabbed a strong $127 million domestic and $350.2 million worldwide launch.
It is interesting to note that five films of Disney have made more than $1 billion at the box office this year. After a massive opening weekend, it seems like Frozen 2 is on its way to becoming the company's sixth.
“Frozen ” was groundbreaking for how it reinvented the Disney princess template for the 21st Century, giving its two heroines a sense of real agency and establishing a strong relationship between two women that’s rarely seen on screen.
