Hajj 2022 packages announced for Iqama holders

A record one million people expected to perform the pilgrimage

RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced three packages for Iqama holders and Saudi citizens wishing to perform Hajj this year.

The package ranges from 10,000 riyals to 14,000 riyals.

The week-long Hajj starts July 7.

This year much larger number of pilgrims are being allowed for Hajj.

The kingdom had restricted Hajj to 60,000 domestic pilgrims due to covid, down from 2.5 million before the pandemic broke out.

Now, about a million people are expected to perform the pilgrimage, out of which 15% will be Saudi citizens, while 85% would be from other countries.

People under 65 years must be triple vaccinated to be allowed in.

The first package announced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for individuals at home is 14,000 riyals, which amounts to PKR728,000. This covers transport by air or train to Makkah and a stay in Mina.

The second package is 13,000 riyals which is PKR676,000 and does not cover accommodation in Mina. They will be accommodated in hotels in Makkah.

The third package is of 10,000 riyals that is PKR520,000. In addition to tents in Mina, food and transport will be provided.

As per Saudi Ministry of Hajj, all three packages are not exempted from value-added tax.

Domestic pilgrims can register till June 12.

Last week, the minister announced that electronic services have been started for Umrah, and the visas will be provided in 24 hours.
