Asif Zardari released on bail, shifted to Zardari house
ISLAMABAD: Accountability court Islamabad on Thursday has released former President and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Zardari on medical grounds in money laundering case and Park Lane references.
According to the details two surety bonds of Rs 10 million each has been submitted in the court.
After the orders Zardari has been shifted to Zardari house in the capital. The party will decide there whether the PPP leader should be flown to Karachi today or tomorrow.
The former president was accompanied by his children Bilawal and Aseefa and Yousaf Raza Gillani among other PPP leaders was also present when he was allowed to leave Pims, which had been declared a sub-jail, after the completion of legal formalities. A large number of supporters gathered at the scene and threw rose petals on his car.
It is pertinent to mention that IHC had on Wednesday post-arrest bail to Zardari in the Park Lane and fake accounts cases on medical grounds against surety bonds of Rs20 million and adjourned proceedings on the bail petition of his sister and lawmaker Faryal Talpur till December 17.
