KARACHI: Sindh High Court on Thursday has reinstated A.D Khawaja as Inspector General of Sindh Police, Aaj News reported.

According to reports, A two-judge bench, comprising Justices Munib Akhtar and Omar Sial, announced the judgment.

The SHC ordered the provincial government to legislate in order to equip the IGP with the powers of transfers and postings, adding that, the provincial government has no right to relive an IGP with out any justification.

The court also made it mandatory for the government to follow the judgement in the Anita Turab case under which an IGP could not be removed from his post before three years of his appointment.
