Director General Inter- Service Public Relations (DG-ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor in an statement sums up the success that Pakistan army/ Security forces garnered in 2016.

According to the details, Indian forces did 379 cross fire violations in which 46 Pakistani citizens embraces martyrdom. In response to these violations 40 Indian soldiers were killed by Pakistan army.

Similarly, arrangements for security of China -Pakistan Economic Corridor were made, including raising of Special Security Division (SSD) for 87O kilometer road network.

DG-ISPR also gave an insight into the ongoing Karachi operation gains, in which 1992 operations were conducted out of which 2847 criminals were arrested.

A total of 446 target killers were apprehended during the raids while 350 terrorist were also arrested. As a result, the metropolis saw an incredible 91% drop in target killings while other terrorism related activities were also reduced to 72%.

Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor also revealed the performance of Military courts, in which a total of 274 criminals were presented for trials, out of which 161 were awarded with death penalties in which 12 were executed , while 113 others were imprisoned.

Overall 81% Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) from North Waziristan, South Waziristan and Khyber agency returned to their lands, statement also cited.

Pakistan successfully tested enhanced version of Babur cruise missile and produced air launched Ra'ad missile to beef up the security of motherland.

 Zarb-e-Azb Review

DG-ISPR in another tweet released the achievements of operation Zarb-e-Azb in 2016, in which a total of 3500 terrorist were killed in the operation, 583 Army troops also embraced martyrdom during the operation, while 2108 soldier sustained injuries.

Pakistan army successfully decimated 992 terrorist hideouts, destroyed 7599 ammo factories and improvised explosive devices, recovered 18087 weapons and destroyed 253 tons of explosives.

A total of 25620 intelligence based operations were carried out all over the country. In Punjab 11735 combing operations were accomplished. 294 were executed in Balcohistan, 646 in Sindh, 4007 in KPK/ FATA and 465 in Gilgit Baltistan.

For Socio-Economic uplift in FATA/KP a total of 567 projects were carried out. A 54 km transmission line was installed in Wana, two stadium were made in KP/FATA and 930 km of road networks were also laid out in the area.
