KARACHI: At least three people were killed in firing incidents in different localities of the city, Aaj News reported. 

According to the reports, unidentified people opened firing at a bakery in Lyari Mithadar area and killed one person while another was badly wounded. The injured was shifted to civil hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Both deceased have beenidentified as Mumtaz and Akhtar.

Police reports claimed that the mishap took place over resisting dacoity bid whereas the locals said that extortionists of gangwar group were involved in the shooting.

Separately in Shah Latif area, one man was gunned down by unknown miscreants, identified as Meraj.

Meanwhile, police and rangers conducted search operations in different areas of Karachi and detained 16 suspects. Weapons and drugs were reportedly recovered from their possession.
