Gold plunged by Rs 1,157 to close at Rs 45,428 per 10 grams in the local market Thursday as its international price dropped to $ 1,537 an ounce, market sources said.

According to Karachi Saraf Association official, tola (11.664 grams) price also plummeted by Rs 1,350 to Rs 53,000.

Silver closed lower at Rs 822.85 per 10 grams.
