Prosecution failed to bring evidence against Nawaz, says Shehbaz

LAHORE: President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that prosecution have failed to bring any solid evidence against Nawaz Sharif in corruption cases, AajNews reported.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore after PML-N’s top leadership met today to discuss plan of action following the arrest and arrangements for Nawaz Sharif’s return, he said that the verdict stated that prosecution have not brought evedences against Nawaz Sharif related to corruption charge.

Earlier an accountability court has sentenced ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif to ten years and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to seven years imprisonment.

He said that Nawaz Sharif is coming to Pakistan leaving behind his ailing wife.

Shehbaz said that he and his party workers will go to Lahore airport tomorrow to recieve Nawaz Sharif in a peaceful manner, and it is our constitutional right, he added.

He criticized the caretaker government for the arrest of PML-N workers. The arrests are raising the questions on transparency of upcomming polls, he added

PML-N is being targeted, he claimed.
