Glani meets Dr Aafia’s sister, mother |

KARACHI : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that every effort would be launched to get Dr Aafia released from the US detention, Aaj News reported.
The PM stated these views while meeting with Dr Aafia’s sister Dr Fauzia and mother at the Governor House, Karachi on Monday.
On the occasion, Dr Fauzia warned that she would stage a sit-in before the Parliament House if the government did not pursue Dr Aafia’s case immediately.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and Federal Minister Dr Farooq Sattar was also present on the occasion. Talking to Dunya News, Dr Fauzia said that the PM has summoned a meeting regarding Dr Aafia’s release, which would be attended by Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Foreign Minister Qureshi and US Ambassador Hussain Haqqani.
