LAHORE : French Ambassador in Pakistan, Mr Daniel Jouanneu has said that France can extend every assistance to Pakistan in the fields of agriculture implements, work wear and skill development.

"Being an old friend of Pakistan, France is always willing to help this country in development of its social and economic sectors," he said during a meeting here with chief executive officer Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC), Suhael Ahmed. Other senior officials of TUSDEC were present on the occasion.

"We see Pakistan, Punjab and Lahore as our long term partners," said the envoy, adding that collaboration between France and Pakistan could now range from heavy industry to sophisticated hi-tech sector.

He said he believed in the high skill level of Pakistan's human resource, adding that the collaboration with Pakistan in the development of high tech military equipment like sub-marines is fully reflective of their capability.

Referring to the formation of a joint committee of leading industrialists and businessmen of Pakistan and France, the ambassador said that the committee would meet frequently to explore avenues of increased cooperation between the two friendly countries, while the exchanges of delegations could help accelerate mutual cooperation.

Earlier, TUSDEC chief Suhael Ahmed gave a briefing to the ambassador on working of the organization by Ministry of Industries and Production in 2005, adding that the company has successfully implemented projects in the fields of technology upgradation and skill development.

He said that France can be of great help in the fields of agricultural implements, work wear and skill development, as these sectors had always been the strength of French economy.
