Web Desk: Many women have come out to voice their ordeal experience and to call out names of their sexual predators. Similarly, India is also caught up in the crest of #MeToo wave. All this while, it was only about women accusing men of sexual harassment, but this accusation brought about a new side to it.
In a first, an Indian woman comedian, Kaneez Surka, has put up allegations of sexual harassment on her fellow Aditi Mittal, reported India Times.
In a Twitter post, Kaneez Surka has called out Aditi Mittal for her inappropriate behavior in front of the audience two-year-ago. She accused Aditi of forcefully kissing her and putting her tongue in Kaneez’s mouth, while she was on stage.
Kaneez Surka wrote that she reached out to her a year ago, when Aditi Mittal first apologized but soon turned hostile.
“Out of my belief that the opportunity to reform is the only way forward, yesterday, once again, I spoke to her through a mutual friend and requested her to come out with a public apology and save me the pain of having to reveal her identity. Despite having acknowledged it earlier, she denied kissing me on my mouth, gaslighted me and asked me to cross check. I have proof but I thought we believe the victim. Her actions yesterday have further burdened me with the task of having to do this but I don’t want to be silent anymore.”

In the end, Kaneez requested men to not use her story for their own agendas. She concluded, “This is not retribution but for personal closure. Please respect this.”
As the comedian demanded a public apology from Aditi Mittal, Aditi has now done so and in the post, she also made a mention as to how she did apologize to Kaneez and in fact, the two had also promised to have each other’s back upon discovering the rampant sexism in AIB. She explained herself further by saying that it wasn’t her turning hostile but just giving Kaneez her personal space.
