Punjab Government has further extended the already granted short parole of former prime minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar till Monday, 17 September (4:00 pm).
This was notified by Punjab Home Department in Lahore on Thursday night.
Earlier on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar were permitted a short parole of twelve hours. Which was expected to be extended in order to enable them for attending the funeral and burial of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz at the Jati Umra residence of the Sharifs.
Begum Kulsoom passed away on Tuesday after an over-a-year-long battle with lymphoma (throat cancer).
Her funeral prayers will be held at Sharif Medical City in Lahore’s Jati Umra neighbourhood at 5pm.
