LAHORE: Dead body of Pakistan’s former first lady, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was brought to Lahore by PIA flight early this morning, Aaj News reported.
Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flight PK-758, which departed from London’s Heathrow Airport carrying Begum Kulsoom’s body landed at approximately 6:45 am.
Former CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, the deceased’s brother-in-law along with Begum Kulsoom’s daughter Asma, grandson Zayd Hussain Sharif (Hussain Nawaz’s son), and 11 other family members escorted the body.
Her sons, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz,did not return to Pakistan to attend their mother’s funeral.
Her funeral prayer will be offered in Lahore at five p.m. today. Famous cleric, Maulana Tariq Jameel will lead the funeral prayers of Begum Nawaz.
PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said Kulsoom Nawaz would be buried alongside her father-in-law, Mian Sharif, at Jati Umra.
