ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has prepared a proposal to lease out its land, Minister for Railways Shaikh Rashid Ahmed told Senate on Wednesday.
Responding to a question asked by Senator Imamuddin Shouqeen, Rashid said the ministry will lease out the land after seeking cabinet’s consent.
He said the deficit of railways was 30 billion rupees in 2013 which rose to 41 billion rupees in 2018.
He told the house that the Green line train is working under Pakistan railways.
According to the minister, the report of the case of 1800 coppers wagons has been submitted by the railways
“In new cabinet we will proposed not to demolish property of poor people and action will be taken against the land mafia in which senior official of railways are also involved.” —APP
