Web Desk: Eid-al-Adha or Bakra Eid will be celebrated all across the Pakistan on August 22. The day is dedicated to the great sacrifice made to the prophet by his devotee signifying his faith and devotion.
On this Eid, meat of domestic animals such as sheep, goat, camels, cows is gifted to family and friends while distributed among the poor and also some of its part cooked at home.
Here are some of the ways to celebrate this Eid in a healthier way.
This Eid is impossible without button biryani. Traditional spicy and marinated in yogurt is above all. It is the healthier option for all. Biryani is an overall healthy option to savour: it has all the necessary carbs, proteins, vitamins, minerals and healthy fat. To keep it, go low on the fats added and marinate the meat in low fat yogurt. You could also try using brown rice instead of white.
Sheer Khurma is a traditional delicious dessert dish made during the festival of Eid. You could replace full cream milk with skimmed milk to make this and add nutritious seeds like pumpkin, watermelon seeds to it along with other dry fruits.
Chicken korma is also very healthy because of its healthy ingredients like turmeric, cumin, garlic and ginger that goes into the korma can be good for your health. Spicy curries are particularly good for boosting your body’s natural immunity and fighting off colds and flus.
These kebabs can be prepared with spinach or peas too. It is considered a super food packed with all the necessary nutrients like proteins, iron, vitamins and minerals and gram dal which is high in fiber and a good source of zinc, folate and calcium.But do not deep fry the kebabs. Also, you can use olive oil instead of refined oil.
Smoothies: The alternate way to fix your dessert craving is to try out healthy smoothies which taste like desserts. They have all the essential nutrients and lots of fiber.
