GILGIT: An amount of 7.7 billion has been released by the federal government for Gilgit Baltistan for current fiscal year, GB official sources told this scribe on Monday.
Deputy Chief Programing, Israr Ahmed was in Islamabad since a week for the purpose while Chief Secretary GB, Babar Hayat Tarar also personally played active in release of the funds, the sources said.
The sources in Planning Department further said for maintaining strict financial discipline in GB, all the departments have been directed to ensure quality and in time completion of the projects and funds will only be issued for projects that fulfill the criteria of the discipline.
It said that funds for the first six months of current fiscal year will be issued to heads of the departments who submits their demands properly and well in time. -APP
