Islamabad: Police opened aerial fire at the Election camp of Muttehda Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) in the G-10 sector of Islamabad. The camp was closed after firing, Aaj News reported.
After the firing, MMA workers blocked the G-10 Road, as a protest.
According to MMA leader, Islamabad police tried to close the election camp forcefully, they opened fire after refusing to close the camp.
Police said, ‘Workers of Jamat-e-Islami pushed us for prohibiting them to use loud-speaker, ASI fired for their own self defense.
MMA candidate Mian Aslam demanded Election Commission (EC) to take notice of the incident, saying that there is no free campaign in Islamabad and advertisement material are being seized.
