KARACHI: Emergency will be imposed in all hospitals of provincial health departments during upcoming election day while mobile towers will be moved to remote areas of the province to ensure unerupted availability of mobile network during the polling day.
This was stated by Chief Secretary Sindh Major retd Azam Suleman Khan while presiding over an important meeting to review arrangements made for general elections 2018. The meeting was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Home, Secretary Information and Secretary Education. The Chief Secretary Sindh noted that the installation of CCTV cameras and provision of all missing facilities at polling stations should be made available till 21st July.
The Chief Secretary Sindh directed the secretary home to ensure the availability of mobile towers at remote areas of the province where mobile networks are not available. The home secretary informed that he had held a meeting with representatives of mobile networks to ensure the unerupted availability of mobile network during the polling day. CS Sindh said that emergency would be imposed in all hospitals of health departments during election day.
Secretary School Education Dr Alya Shahid apprised the meeting that missing facilities had been furnished in 3290 polling stations. The Chief Secretary asked the commissioners to visit the polling stations to review the availability of missing facilities. He also advised DCs and ACs to inspect 100% facilities of water, toilets, electric and ramps for wheel chairs to facilitate voters.
The CS Sindh directed officers concerned to make sure availability of all missing facilities at polling stations and negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
