Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, nearly half Pakistanis (47%) are of the opinion that languages other than Urdu and English should not be included in the syllabus.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your view, should languages other than Urdu and English be included in the syllabus?”
In response to this question, 41% said yes and 47% said no. 12% did not know or did not wish to respond. The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1680 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, May 21 – May 28, 2018. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.-PPI
