Having lunch at work can make you fat, finds study

Web Desk: A US study found that the food people get at work contributes to unhealthy eating because it tends to contain high amount of sodium and refined grains.

Eating in workplace contributes a lot in gaining weight. The researcher Stephen Onufrak quoted, ‘Our results suggest that the foods people get from work do not align well with the recommendations in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.’

The study also analyzed the food or beverages employees purchased at work from vending machines or cafeterias and showed that nearly a quarter of study participants obtained food from work at least once a week and that the average weekly calories obtained was almost 1,300.
