KARACHI: The nomination papers of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan’s leader Dr. Farooq Sattar, for the National Assembly NA-245 has been rejected, Aaj News reported.
A case was heard regarding the nomination papers of Farooq Sattar for Karachi’s NA-245 (Jamsheed Quarter, Ferozabad). However, Sattar failed to appear before returning officer.
A police report said that, ‘There are multiple cases against Farooq sattar and court has declared him fugitive and has issued arrest warrant.’
Returning officer (RO), expressed his anger on Farooq Sattar due to his absence and said, ‘Farooq Sattar hid the facts and didn’t mention cases against him in nomination papers.’
He failed to show his two FIRs, despite of facing the cases he chose to escape from it. Hence, Returning officers rejected his nomination papers for NA-245.
Farooq Sattar submitted his nomination papers for Karachi’s three regions, NA-241, 245 and 247.
