Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious zeal and fervor across the country today.
Big Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques and eidgahs in all major cities and towns. The Ulema in their sermons highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah. Strict security measures are in place across the country to avoid any untoward incident.
In Islamabad, the biggest Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque where government officials and envoys of Islamic countries offered Eid prayers.
Prime Minister Justice (Retired) Nasirul Mulk offered his Eid prayer at the mosque in prime minister house in Islamabad.
The prime minister prayed for peace, security and prosperity of the country.
Later, he mixed up with the people and exchanged Eid greetings with them.
In Lahore, the biggest eid congregation was held at Badshahi Mosque, where Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana offered Eid prayer.
The main Eid congregation in Karachi was held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (Old Polo Ground), where Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, high ranking officials and diplomats of Islamic countries performed Eid prayer.
After Eid prayer Governor Sindh exchanged Eid greetings with people.
Meanwhile, Eid congregations were also held at Nishtar Park, National Stadium, Eidgah Nazimabad and T-Ground and other parts of the city.
Security has also been tightened across the province including Karachi to maintain law and order.
In Peshawar, the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at Sonehri Masjid Peshawar Saddar.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Caretaker Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khan offered Eid prayer at Governor House Peshawar.
Collective prayers were offered for peace, prosperity and development of the country and Muslim Ummah.
After Eid prayer, both the leaders mixed with people and exchanged Eid greetings with them.
In Quetta, more than 180 Eid prayer congregations were held at open places, parks, mosques, Imambargahs, and Eidgahs, while the main congregation was held at Eidgah Toghi road, Quetta.
Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai offered Eid prayer in his native town Killah Abdullah while the caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Alauddin Marri in Quetta.
More than 1800 Police and 2000 FC personnel have been deployed in Quetta,to provide security to the people.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, main Eid congregations were held in Imamia Eidgah Jutial and Ahlesunnat Eidgah Konodas.
Elaborate security arrangements were made by Gilgit police with the help of Punjab Rangers, Gilgit Baltistan Scouts.
Governor Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan offered Eid prayer in Karimabad, Hunza and Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman offered prayer in Lalik Jan Stadium.
