PM meets opposition leader to discuss caretaker setup

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi met the opposition leader Khursheed Shah of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to discuss the caretaker setup prior to general elections of 2018, Aaj News reported. 

The meeting between the PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and opposition leader of National Assembly was held in PM office on Wednesday. It was the third official meeting between them.

In the meeting of the two leaders, names of former Chief Justice, Dr. Pervaiz Hussain Jilani, former financial minister Dr Hafeez Pasha, former Governor State Bank Dr. Shamshad were brought up for the nominees.

During the meeting, they also discussed country’s overall situation, national assembly and senate conference and law formation.

N-league’s five years period of governance comes to an end on May 31, after that caretaker prime minister will run the country until the general elections.
