Here is why Mexican women marry trees

Web Desk: Photos of women in Mexico marrying trees to pledge their devotion has gone viral. The wedding was not legally binding, but it was meant to draw attention to tree logging, a big issue in San Jacinto Amilpas.

Origanisation ‘Bedani’ had initially started the ‘marry a tree’ ritual as a way of giving thanks to Mother Nature.

The wedding based on the customs of Inca people where men and women wed trees. The rite is led by environmentalist Richard Torres.
