ISLAMABAD: A Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, while hearing the extra judicial killing case of Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud on Tuesday granted protective bail to former SSP Malir Rao Anwar until Friday the 16th, Aaj News reported.
According to reports, SC ordered the police officials to assure fool proof security of Anwar prior to his appearance before the court on Friday.
Further the court ordered the formation of a new Joint Investigation Committee (JIT) comprising of civil and military officials, including the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The verdict came in the wake of a letter written by Anwar to the CJP, denying all allegations of fake encounter against him. Anwar in his letter cited, that he was not present on the spot when Naqeebullah was murdered.
