MQM’s Rabata Committee removes Farooq Sattar from party leadership

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Dr Farooq Sattar has been removed from convener’s position on Sunday, AajNews reported.

Talking to the media in a news conference senior leader of MQM-Pakistan Kanwar Naveed Jameel said that Dr Farooq Sattar has brought changes in party constitution without taking Rabita Committee (RC) in trust and tried to take all powers of the party.

He said that Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) canceled party’s registration due to the niglegence of Farooq Sattar as he did not file the wealth statements of party workers to the ECP.

He said that Rabita Committee has tried its best to contact Dr Farooq Sattar.

In a televised press briefing Kunwar Naveed Jameel announced that Dr Farooq Sattar is MQM-P’s member but is no longer the party convener.

Kamran Tessori is personal friend of Dr Farooq Sattar and he made him deputy convener of the party due to his own friendship, he added.
