PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s police in a statement issued on Wednesday have claimed to arrest the main suspects behind the Asma murder case, Aaj News reported.
Speaking at a press conference, the police officer informed that the prime suspect 15-year-old Muhammad Nabi worked in a local restaurant and also a relative of the deceased.
Mardan Regional Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed said that the case was concluded by tracing a drop of blood on a leaf in the sugarcane field where the minor was killed.
The RPO further claimed that the weapon used in the malicious act has also been recovered by the police.
KPK Inspector General Salah Uddin Mehsud gave props to the police for solving this case. He stated that the KPK police solved the case with hard work as they had no CCTV footage, neither do they had any lead to the case as this atrocious act was done in a sugar cane field.
Pakistan Tehreek Insaf’s chairman Imran Khan also praised KPK police in his tweet stating that:
Commendable work by the professional KP police force. In the Asma case, with just one spot of blood found & no other evidence, no CCTV footage, KP police worked professionally to catch culprit showing they have developed advanced forensic detection capability as well. pic.twitter.com/UVTy4K0zXm
