LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways has started an extended train operation to facilitate the participants in the first phase of Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtema as well as the Sikh yatrees.
The yatrees will be in Pakistan to join ceremonies of the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib at Nankana Sahib.
According to the PR sources on Thursday, special trains for participants in the Tableeghi Ijtema will operate from Sakkur, Mirpur Khas and Nawab Shah for Raiwind, and from Khairpur, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas for Nankana Sahib, to facilitate Sikh yatrees.
Tableeghi Ijtema participants will leave Raiwind for their hometowns on Nov 5 and Sikh yatrees will leave Nankana Sahib on Nov 7 by special trains.
Three separate special trains will also be operated for Sikh yatrees coming from India to participate in the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib.
Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has directed the administration to provide best facilities and security to the Tableeghi Jamaat members as well as Sikh Yatrees.
He said that serving the volunteers of Tableeghi brothers provided happiness and comfort while Sikh yatrees were our guests and it was our duty to provide respect, protection and hospitality to guests.
Railways Additional General Manager Traffic Abdul Hameed Razi also presided over a meeting to review the arrangements for the Tableeghi Ijtema and Sikh yatrees.—APP
