Food Street in Bajaur Agency inaugurated

BAJAUR AGENCY: The political administration of Bajaur Agency inaugurated a food street at main town Khar to facilitate the residents and provide congenial atmosphere to tribal people and business community.

It was inaugurated by Additional Political Agent, Muhammad Ali Khan during a function also attended by Assistant Political Agents Arif Khani and Anwar-ul-Haq besides businessmen and tribal elders in a large number.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Political Agent Muhammad Ali Khan said the federal government was determined to boost economic activities in the tribal areas by providing better facilities at the business centres and people at their doorsteps.

The federal government, he said, was making all out efforts to improve business and trade activities in the tribal areas for its positive role in promotion of economic, trade and business activities in the agency.

He said the local administration with the financial support of government has planned to provide basic and modern facilities at all business and trade centres across the agency in order to create business friendly environment to them.

Leaders of various political, religious parties, representatives of various trade union association including Qari Abdul Majeed, Malik Attahullah Khan and Haji Khan bahadar also addressed the ceremony.

They thanked the government for taking efforts to promote business and trade activities in the agency.

The participants welcomed the opening of the Food Street and establishment of a number of new restaurants in the area, saying that food-related business was the most profitable trade in the agency.

The speakers among them, Assistant political agents Arif Khan and Awnarul Haq asked the local people, especially the wealthy persons to play their due role in promotion of economic activities in the area by setting up more restaurants and hotels.—APP
