ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been pardoned by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a contempt case, Aaj News reported.
According to reports, ECP Thursday dropped two contempt petitions against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan after accepting a written apology for his past statements in which Khan had accused the commission of being bias.
PTI counsel Babar Awan, Secretary General Jahangir Tareen and leaders Shafqat Mehmood and Naeemul Haque accompanied Khan at the ECP.
Last week PTI decided that Khan should appear before the court voluntarily. The decision was taken when ECP issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khan on contempt charges on October 12th. The warrants were produced when PTI’s Chief failed to appear before despite notices.
