ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the Government firmly believes in rule of law, upholding the democratic ideals and strengthening institutions.
He was talking to PML-N senators in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said the Government is particularly focused on timely completion of development projects catering the needs of the people.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said our policies have projected positive image of the country at international level and restored the confidence of the international community, especially foreign investors.
Discussing various policy initiatives relating to security, economy and development, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said performance of the present government is better than the past ones.
He said we have given a concept of corruption free governance and it is a matter of pride for us that not even a single case of corruption has surfaced in development projects during the last four years.
The Prime Minister highlighted the accomplishments of the government in different areas, including economy, power sector, timely completion of projects, and internal security situation.
He said the PML-N government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif has steered the country out of challenges and put it on the track of development.
He said now the real challenge is for the parliamentarians to build on the gains made during last four years.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also had a meeting with former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind in Lahore on Tuesday.
They discussed wide-ranging issues of national importance and overall situation in the country.
Efforts of the government to continue developmental agenda also came under discussion.
The Prime Minister briefed Nawaz Sharif about his recent interactions with parliamentarians and members of the Party.
Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar were also present during the meeting.—Radio Pakistan
