Unprovoked Indian Shelling, 300 families to leave hometown

MUZAFFARABAD: As many as 300 families have left their villages located near Line of Control (LoC) in the wake of unprovoked shelling by Indian forces and took shelter in government buildings in Abbaspur, some 120 kilometers from here, official said.

Assistant commissioner Abbaspur Ch Sajid Hussain told Monday that unprovoked Indian shelling continued till late Sunday night leaving two persons Javaid Ayoob and Sardar Abdul Razaq critically injured in Polus village near Abbaspoor.

He said 300 families from Polus, Sathwal, Truti and other villages along LoC have deserted their villages on Sunday feeling insecure due to unprovoked shelling by Indian forces across the border.

He said all the families have been given shelter in the building of Tehsil Headquarter Hospital (THQ) and other buildings.

He said the injured were moved to Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Neyhan Hospital in Rawalakot after initial medication at THQ as their condition was so critical.—APP
