ECP reserved decision in a contempt case against PTI chief

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reserved judgement in contempt case against PTI Chairman Imran Khan. 

Headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza a five-member bench reserved the verdict after hearing arguments of Advocate Babar Awan, the counsel for the PTI chief.

PTI’s counsel stated before the bench that ECP has no right to hear the contempt of court case as per law, adding that, country’s Constitution the Supreme Court and high courts were empowered to entertain such matters.

The Commission will announce the verdict on 10th of August.

Talking to the media outside Election Commission, founding member of PTI Akbar S Babar said Imran Khan has no respect for the institutions.
