ISLAMABAD: The United Nations Development Program has expressed readiness to help Pakistan at technical and operational level for implementation of programs to cope with the adverse impacts of climate change.
The understanding to this effect was expressed by UNDP Regional Director Haoling Xu during a meeting with the Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid in Islamabad today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Pakistan is also developing hydro power projects and wind energy projects to meet energy requirements.
He said we will welcome any support from United Nations Development Program in setting up institutions under Climate Change Act.
UNDP Regional Director said that we can offer our help in technical and operational level to implement things.
He said that Pakistan is first country in the region to secure Green Climate fund.—Radio Pakistan
