UMERKOT: Civil Hospital Umerkot’s Doctors refused to provide medical attention to four sanitary workers that resulted in the death of one of them, Aaj News reported.
According to reports, medical superintendent (MS) along with two other doctors booked in the case have been arrested by police. The arrest however resulted in doctors to boycott the OPDs and emergency services at the hospital.
Yesterday, Irfan, 30, a sanitary worker, died when doctors at Civil Hospital Umerkot allegedly refused to treat him because of his unclean body. The victim along with three fellows were brought in unconscious while clearing a choked manhole.
The attendants of the victims claim that the doctors refused aid them because of the filth on them and asked their attendants to wash them before they would start treatment.
The infuriated members belonging to the Christian community of the district took the dead body to the press club and hold a protest demonstration against the attitude of the doctors.
