Recipe of the day: Chicken Wrap

For marination

Ingredients

  1. Chicken breast – 2 (cut it to strips)
  2. Red chili powder – 2 tsp
  3. Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
  4. Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  5. Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Corn flour – 1 tbsp
  8. Oil – for deep frying

Method

  1. Marinate the chicken strips with red chili powder, black pepper powder, garlic paste lemon juice and salt for about an hour in the refrigerator.
  2. Add the corn flour to the marinated chicken and combine well.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the chicken strips till done. Keep it aside.

 For filling

Ingredients

  1. Cabbage (thinly sliced) – 1 ½ cup
  2. Carrot – 1 (thinly sliced)
  3. Capsicum – ½ cup
  4. Pepper powder – 1 tsp (add more if you want it more spicy)
  5. Tomato – 1 (thinly sliced)
  6. Lettuce – ½ cup, chopped
  7. Mayonnaise – ¼ cup
  8. Red chili sauce – 2 – 3 tsp
  9. Chapathi/ naan / tortillas – 4 – 5
  10. Salt – to taste

Method

  1. Heat a pan and add sliced cabbage, carrot, capsicum, pepper powder and fried chicken and saute for a minute or two. Remove it from flame and add sliced tomato and lettuce. Add little salt to it and combine well.
  2. In another bowl combine together mayonnaise and red chili sauce.
  3. Take one chapathi/ tortilla and spread the mayonnaise – sauce on one side. Add little filling and wrap it tightly. Serve immediately

Note : makes about 4 – 5 chicken wraps.
