Pakistan lodges strong protest with India over unprovoked ceasefire violation at LoC

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner on Thursday and lodged a strong protest with him over the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian forces at LoC last night in Tandar, Subzkot, Khuiratta, Baroh, Bagsar and Khanjar sectors.

The unprovoked firing by Indian forces resulted in martyrdom of a civilian and injuries to two others.

Director General (South Asia and SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian forces terming it contrary to human dignity and international human rights.

He urged India to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.—Radio Pakistan
