ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed all concerned to evolve a mechanism to regulate the use of social media for constructive purposes and nation-building process.
Chairing a meeting, he directed Chairmen Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and NADRA to consult all stakeholders including the service-providers, civil society and mainstream media for the purpose.
The Minister also urged foreign office to get in touch with OIC Secretary General for convening a meeting at the OIC level on the issue of blasphemous content on social media.
He said that the right to free speech is stitched to the sense of responsibility and ownership.
He said ghost users thorough their fake social media accounts cannot be allowed to hurt feelings of others.—Radio Pakistan
