Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has declared that conduct of Census will be completed at any cost.
In a statement, he said that the soldiers and civil enumerators who embraced shahadat on Wednesday in Lahore in suicide attack were on Census duty.
The Army Chief said conduct of Census is a national obligation. Sacrifice of precious lives of civil enumerators and soldiers is beyond any doubt a great sacrifice. He said these sacrifices will only strengthen our resolve and with the support of entire nation we will cleanse the menace of terrorism from our soil.
He condoled with bereaved families and paid highest tributes to Martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty.
Meanwhile, in a statement Chief Census Commissioner Asif Bajwa has expressed the resolve that process of national population census would continue undeterred and be completed on time.
He also strongly condemned the suicide attack on the census team in Lahore.—Radio Pakistan
