ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting was held in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the chair to review security situation of the country.
The meeting reviewed progress and successes achieved during operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
The participants said that elimination of terrorism and extremism is imperative for sustainable peace in the country.
The Prime Minister and the participants expressed satisfaction over performance of Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order in the country.
The meeting also exchanged views to strengthen anti-terrorism laws.
The meeting expressed the resolve to accelerate implementation of National Action Plan at federal and provincial level. The Prime Minister also directed to speed up operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Advisor on National Security Nasser Khan Janjua, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, DG ISI and senior officials.—Radio Pakistan
