Hussain Haqqani views vindicate forces stance: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday in an official statement said that the claims made by former Pakistan ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Hussain Haqqani in a American news paper substantiate Pakistan’s state institutions.

ISPR further “The veracity of concerns about [Haqqani’s] role in the entire issue also stands confirmed.”

Haqqani, who had served as Pakistan’s ambassador to the US from April 2008 to Nov 2011 before being forced to resign in the wake of the memogate scandal, made the disclosure in his piece published in The Washington Post  earlier this month.

He wrote that, “Among the security establishment’s grievances against me was the charge that I had facilitated the presence of a large numbers of CIA operatives who helped track down bin Laden without the knowledge of Pakistan’s army – even though I had acted under the authorization of Pakistan’s elected civilian leaders.”
