EU summons Turkey envoy over Erdogan safety remarks 

BRUSSELS: The EU on Thursday summoned the Turkish envoy to explain President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s warning that Europeans risk being unsafe on the world’s streets.

“We have asked actually the Turkish permanent delegate to the EU to come as we would like to receive an explanation with regard to the comments by President Erdogan concerning the safety of Europeans on the streets of the world,” EU spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic said.—AFP
