Alia Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt receive death threats, accused arrested by police

In shocking turn of events the news from neighboring country is that, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his family including daughter Alia Bhatt and wife Soni Razdan have received death threat calls.

The unknown caller has threatened to kill Alia and Soni if Bhatt fail to fulfill his demanded of INR 50 lakh.

According to PinkVilla, the caller’s exact words were,

“If you fail to do so, I will fire several rounds of bullets in your daughter Alia and wife Soni. “

Police registered a FIR and recorded a statement from the Bhatt family. The case was immediately transferred to the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell.

However, in recent developments – the accused has been arrested by the UP police.

Mahesh even tweeted about the arrest. He thanked the police and said, “A bolt from the blue in the form of an extortion call & threat to my family was nipped in the bud by the MH & UP police in tandem. Gratitude!”

According to a leading online portal, a police officer has stated, “A case is registered under section 387 (causing a person to fear death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion).”
