KPK: CTD arrests two ‘suspected’ militants

PESHAWAR: Two suspected Taliban militants associated with banned militant organisation were arrested by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligency agencies on Tuesday, Aaj News reported. 

According to the reports, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligency agencies carried out a raid in Battagram and arrested two suspected militants identified as Mohammad Nawaz and Azizullah.

The two suspected militants were trained in firing weapons and making Intermittent Explosive Devices (IEDs) reportedly. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Unknown armed men shot dead a policeman near a  check post on Charsadda road in the jurisdiction of Khazana police station here on Tuesday morning.

According to police sources, the policeman later identified as Zarghoon died on the spot while the assailants managed to escape.

The security forces and police have started search operation. Meanwhile, police carried out search operation in different areas of  Hangu district and arrested 20 suspects including six proclaimed offenders. The police also recovered weapons from some of the suspects.
