Samoa Joe one of the wrestling’s hottest commodity was warmly welcomed by NXT fans. He became the first ever star to hold the NXT Championship on two different occasions two weeks ago, with the likes of Sami Zayn, Neville, Bo Dallas and Finn Balor only holding it one time.
However, Joe’s title reign only lasted a fortnight as rumours beforehand suggested that he would be dropping the title in front of Nakamura’s home crowd, which were later proven to be true.
RingSideNews.com are reporting that Joe is merely biding his time now until the WWE pushes him up to the higer leagues, with the Royal Rumble the obvious, and perhaps the most predictable event to make his debut on.
WWE held three weeks’ worth of NXT tapings last Wednesday, with each episode focusing on who will be the next challenger to Samoa Joe at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio in 2017.
However, Joe was absent from the event completely, where Bobby Roode emerged as the new number one contender.
This will obviously be shown on NXT, that Joe was dethroned and the title match will now be different to the one originally announced with Joe defending.
This finally means that Joe and Nakamura will go their separate ways, with the new champion remaining on NXT to defend his title against the Glorious one in January, while a Royal Rumble debut would be the most efficient way if not the effective one of introducing Joe to the main roster.
WWE knows that its probably too obvious, and any debut on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live would prove to be equally as surprising.
