Now that the John Cena feud is in the books, for now at least, attention turns to who else AJ Styles could potentially take on inside of a WWE ring.
Having made a huge name for himself elsewhere, fans want to see dream matches featuring The Phenomenal One, and they want them fast.
We can be sure that the chapter with Cena isn’t closed, and we’ve also heard strong rumors about a potential match with Shawn Michaels, while it’s been speculated that he could be defending his WWE Championship against The Undertaker at the Royal Rumble.
Despite all of the massive names available, Styles himself has talked about wanting to face Randy Orton; and has remained confident that they will have a match soon.
It looks like The Viper is equally as interested in making that happen.
When speaking to CBS Sports, Orton revealed the respect he has for Styles and is confident that when the two of them do meet, they’ll tear the house down.
He said: “Being aware of who he was for so long and never really knowing who the man was, getting to know him especially on this European tour, he’s a family man.
“Loves his kids. He’s always Face-Timing the wife and kids, and I respect that. [I respect] guys that are able to do this but still stay grounded and gush about their kids and what they did with them on their off days. He’s one of those guys.
“I’m a big video game mark too and he’s always got the Xbox out with his little portable 19-inch screen. So we’ve got a lot in common, and he’s just an all-around good guy.
“I can’t wait to get in the ring and do some business with him.
“He’s at the top of my list, as far as guys that I look forward to working with that I haven’t worked with before.
“I have certain things that I’m good at too, and I feel like the mixture of both of our talents would really give the people something that they would never forget.”
It’s no secret that Styles is one of the greatest of all time, and Orton also has a brilliant reputation for being one of the smoothest workers in the ring.
