KARACHI: A fire broke out on Friday evening at a multi-storey building, housing a medicines godown, near Kharadar area of the city.
According to Fire Brigade officials, the firefighters with the help of two fire tenders controlled the blaze after the effort of several hours.
In a statement, Sindh Governor Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui, expressing his concern over the fire incident, directed the Commissioner Karachi and other relevant authorities to take effective steps to put out the blaze.
The Governor also sought an enquiry report into the fire incident as soon as possible.
He underlined the need for a modern fire fighting brigade system in the metropolis to ensure a quick response over such incidents.—APP
