Panama case: PM’s children submit reply in SC

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday resumed the hearing of Panama Papers case, the Prime Minister’s children Maryam Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz submitted their reply, Aaj News reported. 

A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case. Prime Minister’s Lawyer Salman Butt submitted the replies of Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz.

It was reportedly stated in reply that Maryam Nawaz was a trustee of Nielsen and Nescom companies and she has not been a beneficiary of any off Shore Company.  He said, all the allegations levelled against Maryam Nawaz are baseless.

The reply further stated that Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz have been living outside Pakistan for 16 and 22 years, respectively. Their father Nawaz Sharif has no involvement in his children’s businesses as well as no connection with properties in London.

Maryam, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz are mature and adults, the reply stated.

The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of Panamagate petitions till Nov 15.

In last hearing, the Prime Minister, in his reply, stated that he does not own any offshore entity. The reply states that the Prime Minister regularly pays taxes as per the law and submits the details of assets with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
