Zarb-e-Azb: ‘Around 21,000 combing operations carried out since 2007’

WEB DESK : Around 21,000 combing operations have so far been conducted in war against terrorism since 2007. These views were expressed by Pakistan Army officials at a sideline conference on “Pakistan’s Military Campaign against Terrorism; Future Capability Enhancement of Pakistan Army”, held during IDEAS-2016.

They said that Pakistan Army, paramilitary forces and police had conducted some 21,000 combing operations in war against terrorism since 2007. They said that the government writ had now been established at all parts of the country and vowed not to allow any anti-state element to get rooted again in the country.

Moreover, they said that the development and rehabilitation process had been commenced in Fata and Northern areas of the country and added that sustainable peace in Pakistan was subjected to the stability in Afghanistan.

They said that Pakistan Armed Forces had all expertise to deal with conventional, sub-conventional conflicts and internal security challenges, which they had proved to the world.

They said that the whole of the nation theory was applied in the operation Zarb-e-Azb and the nation including government, armed forces and general public were on the same page in this regard.

They said that armed forces had prioritised the safety of general public during operation and added that the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb was subjected to the peace in Afghanistan and safe expatriation of Afghan refugees.

Moreover, they said that they were working for political stability and reform process in Fata and stressed the need for effective Pak-Afghan border management to avoid terrorism threats for both countries.
